Face PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma)

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) is a concentrated preparation of platelets and the associated growth factors. PRP is prepared by taking a small sample of the patient’s own blood. Then, the PRP is separated from the Platelet-Poor Plasma (PPP), red blood cells and other cells via centrifuge. Next, the PRP is applied to the area being treated. If it is being applied to the face and neck for skin rejuvenation, it is used in conjunction with SkinPen microneedling. If the PRP is being used for hair restoration, it is injected directly into the scalp.

Platelets are a natural source of a number of growth factors as part of the body’s healing ability. This technique concentrates the growth factors into PRP. These concentrated growth factors can then be used to supercharge the body’s natural healing ability. Platelets are well known to release numerous growth factors that respond to tissue injury. They initiate and promote the conditions for healing. When used with microneedling, PRP is placed in the skin and boosts the skin repair and rejuvenation process by kick-starting the body’s natural ability to naturally produce collagen. When used for hair restoration, PRP stimulates hair growth from hair follicles to thicken hair.
