Signature Surgical Arts and Med Spa offers blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) for the residents of greater Grand Rapids and Holland, Jenison or Grand Haven, Michigan and the surrounding communities.
What is Blepharoplasty?
If it’s hard to keep your eyes open during the day, it may have nothing to do with how well you sleep. Drooping eyelids not only make it more difficult to keep your eyes open but they also make you look sad and tired. Eyelid surgery, or blepharoplasty, from Signature Surgical Arts and Med Spa, addresses sagging eyelids, as well as lines and wrinkles around your eyes.
Candidates for Blepharoplasty
The type of eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) that is right for you depends on the type and extent of correction needed, as well as the elasticity of your skin. The best way to find out if you are a good candidate for eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) at Signature Surgical Arts and Med Spa is to schedule a consultation appointment by calling our office at 616-396-1433.
Benefits of Blepharoplasty
Most patients are surprised at the improvements after their eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty). In general, patients not only look healthier and younger but are also able to enjoy their hobbies and daily activities much more because they are not fighting to keep their eyes open. Dr. Stubbs discusses your individual benefits of eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) during your consultation appointment.
Depending on the extent and type of correction that is needed, Dr. Stubbs may recommend surgery on your upper eyelids, lower eyelids, or both. For the upper eyelid, an incision is made in the natural crease of your eye and excess skin and fat are removed. If you require lower eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty), Dr. Stubbs uses one of two techniques — subciliary and transconjunctival. For subciliary lower eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty), an incision is made in the natural crease along your bottom eyelashes and excess muscle, fat, and skin are removed or repositioned. For transconjunctival lower eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty), a small incision is made inside the lower eyelid and excess fat is removed.
How Much Does Blepharoplasty Cost in Greater Grand Rapids?
Signature Surgical Arts and Med Spa works with CareCredit® to offer you convenient financing options for your facial surgery, body contouring, and medical spa procedures. You may be approved in as little as one hour. We also accept most major credit cards.
Eyelid surgery may be performed for either medical or aesthetic purposes. For instance, some people have an extensive sagging of the eyebrows that tend to obstruct their vision, making it necessary to surgically correct this condition. Usually, medically necessary eyelid surgery will be covered by insurance, unlike eyelid surgery that is strictly for cosmetic purposes.
When you come in for a consultation with Dr. Stubbs, he will conduct a thorough assessment of your eyes, as well as check other medical conditions. At this time, you will express what you hope to accomplish with eyelid surgery, which helps Dr. Stubbs give you a detailed explanation of how this may be achieved. Eyelid surgery can be done using several techniques. The technique Dr. Stubbs selects depends on the result of his assessment of your condition.
